Dr. Vinay Deshmane is a renowned cancer surgeon.
He is the honorary secretary of the Indian Cancer Society.

Dr. Deshmane is the proponent of the procedure for nipple duct endoscopy in the country.

He was honoured with the 'Young Scientist' Award for outstanding research in the Biennial National Cancer Congress of the Indian Society of Oncology Conference held in Kolkata in February 1994.
He received the International Cancer Scholarship from Germany.
He has conducted research on the topic 'Carbon dioxide laser in laryngeal and Hypopharyngeal tumors'.
